Extensions of the Sydney Light Rail system

April 2000. This month I was unable to get to the western part of the line.
The pictures were taken with either a Kodak DC200 (dcp* files) or a Nikon Coolpix 950 (dscn* files). Both cameras were operated in high resolution, high quality mode, and the images rescaled and compressed for the web.
This month station work continued, with foundations for Bridge St station being cast. Also not only were overhead posts placed in most locations but work had started on installing the support brackets. A team on a tower truck were photographed on the bridge above Wentworth Park Rd.   The most significant work carried out in April was the instalation of the extra points at Wentworth Park station and the overhead wiring alterations required, by the end of April Wentworth Park staton had 2 wired tracks, with the overhead for BOTH line terminating next to the Wattle St bridge. The new platform track had not been completely tamped as can be seen from the pictures. On Sunday the 30th I photographed a small RSA point tamping machine sitting at the Wentworth Park outbound platform, presumably ready to do some work late a night when the tram services could be shortened to Jones St and no one would notice....
