Extensions of the Sydney Light Rail system - June 2000

The main work at the start of the month was balasting and tamping of the tracks. The overhead had been strung and teams were out adjusting and tensioning. A fire system was also being fitted to the Glebe tunnel.   Work continued fitting out the stations.
The Bridge Rd overbridge had a pedestrian deck added to it to allow easy pedestrian access to Glebe station from the eastern side of Bridge Rd. Given the difficultly I have had in crossing Bridge Rd, this is a well thought out addition to the station.
On the night of the 21st/22nd of June it appears the extension was energised, the tail end of the system shutdown that morning. See this poster. The isolators at Wentworth Park were observed to be shorted over on Friday the 23rd.
It was reported on usenet, Aus.rail, in this article, that 2101 ran onto the extension on the 22nd of June, and was seen 'clearance testing' at Glebe in the afternoon.
On the 23rd of June during a lunch time walk, I photographed 2103 run past Glebe station wrong road, stop near the Glebe tunnel portal, and then run back towards Wentworth Park at speed. I assume they were testing/tuning the ATC beacons.
The entire line was energised, all isolation points were bridged over, however signal electricans work working on relay huts at further along the line.
By the end of the month, (I was on Holidays) the entire line was probably available for system testing.
