SLR Extension to Lilyfield Opening

The extension opened on the 13th of August 2000.

2102 (Cadbury) did the honours. (Guests)
2105 (Hienz) followed. (Free ride - Public)
2103 (Yellow Pages) following. (Free ride - Public)

After the initial 3, the system dropped into a some what normal diagram with trams running every 10 or so minutes with a special $2 day ticket being sold. All 7 trams ran the entire loop until the afternoon.

The Opening ceremony was held on the Outbound platform, with a band at the city end of the Inbound platform. The weather was overcast and light rain fell during part of the ceremony.
