Sydney Light Rail - Operations December 2000

The first batch of photos were taken on the 21st of December at or near Jubilee Park station. The main objective of the session was to check if any new advertisers were out. As the system now requires 6 of the 7 trams for normal operations, sitting in the one place for 3/4 of an hour should get 6 different trams past your location. In the space of 40 minutes I got all but 2101.
Two inbound services took on passengers at Jubilee park, and all trams had a small number of passengers on board. No one got off at Jubilee Park in the time I was there. I also did not attempt to work out if the passengers I saw on the outbound services were the same ones on the inbound run of the same car!, so I don't know if those outbound passengers were just 'joy riding' or not, but there were people on board all services.

On the afternoon of the 31st I had two hours spare in the city before heading off for a NYE party, so using my Kodak got some shots.
Plenty of Metro Light Rail staff were out at the busier stations, trams were stopping short at Central, unloading and then pulling forward to load, with a number of staff directing passeners. Staff were also at Capitol Square, Haymaket and Convention stations. I didn't go any further. I assume Star City also had staff on hand. 6 Trams were in operation, and a staff member at Haymarket said the 7th would enter service as the afternoon progressed. I saw 2102 being inspected in the depot, but the tram did not leave the depot before I had to leave the area.
The advertising liveries have been static for most of the year, since 2107 and 2104 were last treated in Feburary. 2101 and 2104 are showing signs of wear, with bits of the plastic overlay starting to peel or missing. 2101 has been wearing the Holden team colours since September 1998!
