Goldsworthy Railway


Background - Opened in 1965 to carry iron ore to Port Headland for export.

I belive that BHP totaly aquired the Goldsworthy operation in 1993. It may be now considered part of the BHP Iron Ore railroad, which also operates to Port Headland.

Traffic - (1991) 7.5 million tonnes.

Length - 185Km, 1435mm

Rollingstock - 9 diesel locomotives, 234 ore wagons, 15 service vehicles.
