W set on the Cronulla Line

These are the digital pictures taken of the special run of a preserved W set electric train on the Cronulla branch for the 60th anniversary of the railway. It was also 100 years since the village of Gunamatta (At Cronulla) was named. The local council rolled both events into one.

Unfortunately, the weather was not good, overcast with light rain, and the rain was seen as a contributing factor in the failure of one of the 2 power cars in the train on the first shuttle.
I rode the train from Hustville to Cronulla, and back to Sutherland where I changed onto a outer suburban G set for the return trip to Hurstville. I do not know if the problems were overcome and more of the planed shuttle trips between Cronulla and Sutherland ran.

These were taken with a Kodak DC200 camera.
